I am a tutor with over 20 years of teaching experience in running workshops for schools, tutoring evening classes and teaching private students of all ages and abilities. I use professional quality materials and equipment, and have a unique mobile printing press that I can take with me and which enables me to offer a comprehensive range of techniques and classes in a wide variety of venues.
I offer several print techniques which give a relatively easy way of returning impressive results, even for students who profess to have no ability in this area, consequently they express a high level of interest and sense of achievement. The techniques I offer, which can be seen in more detail in the 'Workshop' pages, are:
stamping, press-print, monoprinting with stencils, collograph, linocut, woodcut, drypoint and Poetry Prints.
If you want to book me for either an individual or a group workshop please see my contact details on the Contacts page.
If you would like to join my mailing list and receive information on courses, workshops and exhibitions please go to the Contacts page for my email address.
I recently ran some workshops at Burlingham Hall with writer Caroline Gilfillan which was a terrific success and some regular, monthly workshops are being planned for the near future.
The recent workshop was entitled: 'Capturing the Moment' and was described like this by Caroline Gilfillan:
"Draw on the fabulous ruined walled garden where chickens are free to range and the rustic historic grounds of Burlingham Hall to write poems celebrating the beauty of the moment. How often do we just drift along paying little attention to what is around us? Using simple exercises and exploring different forms we’ll draft some poems that catch what often slips past unnoticed, then work with Annette Rolston to combine these poems with visual images, creating unique cards and prints to take home. Printing on a portable press you will explore mono-stencil-printing, drypoint, stamping and collaging techniques to illustrate your own poems. Suitable for everyone, from beginners to those with some writing experience."
